LM3886 Overture™ Audio Power Amplifier Circuit Diagram Application and Datasheet

The LM3886 is a high-performance audio power amplifier capable of delivering 68W of continuous average power to a 4? load and 38W into 8? with 0.1% THD+N from 20Hz–20kHz. This device is application for component stereo, compact stereo, self-powered speakers, surround-sound amplifiers, and high-end stereo TVs. The muting function of the LM3886 allows the user to mute the music going into the amplifier by drawing less than 0.5 mA out of pin 8 of the device. This is accomplished as shown in the Typical Application Circuit where the resistor RM is chosen with reference to your negative supply voltage and is used in conjunction with a switch.
