When the engine is running and the transmission is in gear, the engine will stop if the sidestand is moved down. This is because the electric current from the ignition coils does not flow to the ECU when both the neutral switch and sidestand switch are set to “OFF”, thereby preventing the spark plugs from producing a spark.
