Tundra was first made in 1999 for the new model year 2000 Tundra is also the base of the Toyota Sequoia, an SUV larger than the Land Cruiser.
A conservative approach to reengineer Toyota Tundra pickup can not be blamed. In 2007, Toyota threw the gauntlet to the American market, through the introduction of Tundra redesign with a new family of V-8 engine, which encourages fuel-saving technologies for the segment. Now, Toyota seems to have shifted the goal to meet consumer demand. They will strive to maintain Toyota loyalists. Tundra maintain the engine lineup; 4.0-liter V-6 and 5.7-liter V-8.
