Honda CBR900RR (1998 model year) electric starter system consists of: starter relay switch, battery, starter motor, clutch switch, ignition switch, fuse 10A, neutral switch, side stand switch, main fuse 30A, starter switch, clutch switch diode, and neutral indicator.

The starter motor turn when the transmission is in neutral, but does not turn with the transmission in any position except neutral, with the side stand up and the clutch lever pulled in. If starter motor turns engine slowly, please check the following possibilities: low battery voltage, poorly connected battery terminal cable, poorly connected starter motor cable, faulty starter motor or poor connected battery ground cable. The following schematic depicts the Honda CBR900RR Electric Starter Circuit Diagram.
