The central locking is the name given to the process of closing or opening all doors of a car using electric latches. The operating mechanism is simple. Whenever the central locking is activated, small electric motors drive the latched doors of a car and not allow it to be opened from outside.

The functioning of the central locking is based on small engines Magnetics plate included in each door, the same that open locks or lock the levers actuated. The following schematic shows the 1998 Rover R200 Central Door Locking Wiring Diagram. (click image to enlarge)

The central door lock system consists of drivers door lock assembly, ignition system, fusebox, alarm ECU, battery, lock motor.
