In automobile, An anti-lock braking system (ABS) prevents the wheels on a motor vehicle from locking up (or ceasing to rotate) while braking. ABS works with your regular braking system by automatically pumping them. Below schematic depicts the 2002 Chevrolet Corvette . It consists of: (EBCM), traction/suspension control switch, variable effort steering actuator, brake fluid pressure sensor, electronic suspension control module, steering wheel position sensor, brake pressure modulator valve, etc. (click image to enlarge)
