The shift lock system consists of battery, stop light switch, shift lock control switch, shift lock control ECU, shift lock solenoid, key interlock solenoid, ignition switch. I cannot shift out of park while depressing brake pedal in my 1994 mr2 auto. I am told it may be blown shift lock solenoid. Can you tell me where it is located.

If the mr2 trans is similar too my parents camry, shift lock is under center console on pax side.

I have a toyota previa 2.4gl automatic. i cant get reverse to work. could it be this shift lock that is causing my problem? or any other electrical fault?
