The following electrical wiring diagram applies for Honda Transalp XL600V motorcycle for 1990 – 1999 models. This manual contains brief information about battery and charging system (troubleshooting, regulator/rectifier and alternator), ignition system (includes information on troubleshooting the ignition system, inspection procedures, ignition coil, pulse generator, side stand switch, silicon code, ignition timing), electric starter, and wiring diagram.
Troubleshooting the battery/charging system
First, measure the battery for leakage, if abnormal, then check the regulator/rectifier resistance between each regulator/rectifier terminals, but if normal, check for an overcharge battery. Measure the voltage between the R/W (+) and G (-) with terminals of the regulator/rectifier 6P connector, if no voltage, then open or short circuit in wire harness (it can be lost connector), but if there is voltage, then disconnect the 3P connector of the regulator/rectifier, check the alternator stator coil resistance.
