The Grand Cherokee was first built in 1983 when American Motors (AMC) engineers were designing a successor for Jeep Cherokee. It debuted in North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan in 1992.

Below schematic just an illustration of 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Circuit. The and circuit illustrates wire interconnection between each electric components such as intake air temperature sensor, manifold absolute pressure sensor, throttle position sensor, engine coolant temperature sensor, ignition coil, camshaft position sensor, crankshaft position sensor, EGR Solenoid, etc.
